NEW BORO

A GUIDE TO MIDDLESBROUGH FOOTBALL PROGRAMMES 1946/47 – 2011/12

As a Boro fan for over 50 years and a member of the MSS since the mid 70’s, I along with a small band of like-‐minded Boro enthusiasts, have been on an 18 month journey to produce a Boro book Ftled

“A GUIDE TO MIDDLESBROUGH FOOTBALL PROGRAMMES 1946/47 – 2011/12”

Available for sale before Xmas, this Limited EdiFon publicaFon spans eight decades and over 6,500 Boro home and away games at all levels and is the first publicaFon to comprehensively detail all Middlesbrough programmes daFng back to the first post World War II season of 1946/47.

Listed by season, the guide covers 1st team, Reserve & Middlesbrough Youth team fixtures in various League and Cup competitions as well as friendlies (well over 600 of them alone) and other games played at Ayresome Park and The Riverside since the 1946/47 season.

Alphabetically from Aberdeen to Zurich, geographically from Middlesbrough to Wollongong (Australia), in stature from the minnows of Spennithorne and Harmby to the mighty Real Madrid and in profile from The Westmorland County FA InvitaFon Trophy to the UEFA Cup Final, football’s rich and varied tapestry is weaved into “A Guide to Middlesbrough Football Programmes 1946/47 – 2011/12”.

The guide covers all the programmes issued and also the ones that were not. Long forgotten and obscure games, postponements, re-‐arranged fixtures and even multiple version programmes for the same game.

A permanent and unique record of Middlesbrough programmes at all levels for current and future generaFons of collectors and supporters.

The book is priced at only £11.99 (plus £1.40 postage if required) and all profits will go to the

Middlesbrough Former Players Association (MFPA).
